Yesterday Leica announced the new Leica M6, a remake of the legendary camera that ceased production in 2002. This is very exciting news because the M6 is an excellent camera, and it means that big camera manufacturers are interested in making film cameras again!

The new Leica M6 has a price tag of US$5,295.

Here are some questions that you might have in mind:

• Leica quality (although we really want it to be)
• as heavy
• a rangefinder

• one tenth the price
• smaller
• perhaps as iconic
