FAQ for SLR670-S / SLR670m
Q. Why are the differences between 670-S and 670m?
A. 670-S is the ultimate combination of 670a and 670m. It gives you the ability to manually set shutter speed as well as the advantage to use 600 film under Auto mode. There are two different auto mode settings, Auto 100 (SX-70 film) and Auto 600 (600 film). With 670-S, you are now able to use 600 film directly under Auto mode without additional accessories like 670m.
Q. What film can I use on 670-S and 670m?
A. Both of them are compatible with ISO100 and ISO600 film. Both require you to manually adjust the shutter speed on the Time Machine. If you feel like using Auto mode, simply choose A100 or A600 depending on your film choice when using 670-S. When using Auto mode with 670m, you need to use SX-70 film under Auto mode. Otherwise, photos will be overexposed if 600 film is used.
Q. How are A100 and A600 different?
A. A100 and A600 are only available on 670-S. A100 is Auto mode for SX-70 film, while A600 is Auto mode for 600 film. So if you use SX-70 film but don’t want to manually meter, then choose A100 for easy shooting. If you use 600 film and want auto meter, then choose A600.
Q. How do I choose between 670-S and 670m? Which one is suitable for me?
A. 670-S is the most powerful model in the family. If you want more control and the ability to shoot in low light situation without blurry photos, then 670-S is your best choice. You also have control over the camera with 670m, but its low ISO system may limit the ability to shoot in low light. It may be difficult to prevent shaky pictures but 670m is good for outdoors shooting with abundant light.
Q. Can the Time Machine work on other cameras?
A. Time Machine is only compatible with 670-S/670m. Also, Time Machine for 670-S/670m is not interchangeable. Because we re-designed the motherboard of the camera to make the communication between them possible, it will not work on any camera other than 670-S/670m.
Q. What happens if I unplug the Time Machine on 670-S?
A. It works like an ordinary SLR680. You can use 600 film directly without additional accessories. When using SX-70 film, simply turn the lighten/darken wheel to a bit lighten.
Q. Can I still use flash?
A. Yes, MiNT Flash Bar 2 is fully compatible with 670-S and 670m.
Q. Will there ever be a Time Machine for the regular SX-70?
A. That's not possible. In regular SX70, the flash sockets are just connectors to trigger the flash using a simple signal. We had to redesign the whole SX70 motherboard to make the flash socket work as a "port" to send more complex signals. So that's why the Time Machine can only communicate with 670-S/670m.
Q. Can I send in a normal SX-70 to be converted to 670-S or 670m?
A. We don't provide this service normally. However, contact us if you have a special reason. We converted a gold SX-70 into a 670m, which was pretty awesome.

Q. What is the difference between SX-70 and 670 series?
A. 670-S, 670α and 670m are improved versions of SX70. You can shoot better pictures on them because of the electronics modifications that we made to every camera one by one.
Q. Can I use Time Machine on SX-70?
A. No, the motherboard design and components of SX-70 is old and not able to connect to Time Machine.
Q. Why B and T mode?
A. The maximum shutter speed of SX-70 is 14 seconds. Some users find it difficult to capture long exposure photos. From now on, you can choose B and T mode on Time Machine with 670-S/670m. B mode allows you to keep the shutter open as long as you keep the button depressed. T mode can let you press the button once to open the shutter and again to close it. So the maximum shutter speed of 670-S/670m is infinity. You can even take pictures of stars or lightning at night. Every 670 series camera has a tripod hole at the bottom.
Q. What are the motherboard differences between SX-70 and 670-S/670m?
A. The SX-70 motherboard is more than 40 years old. We re-designed it to make it more reliable and to provide a port of communication for Time Machine. You won't be experiencing electronic flaws in 670-S/670m due to old age anymore. Although we do everything we can to prevent these flaws in our factory restored SX-70s, anything can go wrong with old electronic parts. 670-S/670m motherboard is totally new and is more reliable.
